It is with a sad, heavy heart that Wheelworks has decided to close its doors after more than 13 years in business.

What transpired: Over the 2017 summer, it came to my attention that the business next to mine (Briargate wellness center) was looking to expand and occupy my current units, at this time the landlord and I tried to come to terms on a new lease in the same building. After several attempts to negotiate with the landlord to make that possible, I was unsuccessful.

The hard truth: What it really came down to was the landlord wanting higher rent from the dispensary that wanted to expand. Even though I had a current long-term lease, the landlord was determined to break my lease and remove me from my space. As I found out the hard way, Colorado favors landlords over tenants.

After so much tough consideration at this time going forward, I have decided to not look for another building to continue WheelWorks. This decision was not easy to come to, but after much thought, I decided it was the best course of action at this time in my life.

I have appreciated the support and continued business over my years that WheelWorks has afforded to me because of my many customers. The hardest part of closing my doors is losing so many amazing friendships and personal connections I have developed with my customers over the years. It has been a pleasure to serve you.

Please support your local motorcycle shops, without them the sport will only continue to dry up. Support Colorado, and support the beautiful town you live in, Colorado Springs!
